World no. 1 since August 2022, Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann will be the most eagerly- awaited competitor of the Italia.Open to Meraviglia – FEI Jumping European Championship Milan 2023.

He is the winner of the individual and team gold medals in Herning in 2022, and of the Olympic team gold medal in Tokyo in 2021; at the Snai San Siro racecourse, he will pair up with Iliana, a 10-year-old bay mare and will be aiming above all to strike the team gold.

“It is a medal that I have been missing after the bronze in Herning in 2013 and the silver in Gothenburg in 2017; so, I would really like to complete the European series. Of course, all the better if I could get on the podium for the individual title too… However, Iliana is still quite young and this will be the first time she will be involved in such an intense and demanding competition.”
