Roll of Honor
The FEI European Jumping Championship was held for the first time in 1957, in Rotterdam in the Netherlands; the one that will take place in Milan, at the Ippodromo Snai San Siro, is the 37th edition of this championship.
The first winner was a German rider, Hans Günter Winkler. The current reigning champion is German too, André Thieme, who won at Riesembeck in 2021 where Switzerland won the team gold medal. The national team competition was introduced into the European Championship format only in 1975, and it was conquered for the first time by the German team.
